Sunday 30th October Clock Tower Run

I have sprained my lateral collateral ligament in my knee...and the only way to let it heal it seems is to rest off the bike....I am not a happy bunny! I hope that it maybe OK by Sunday, but if its not I wont be out again on Sunday morning and Gurpal cannot make it either. Hopefully someone will be there to lead out any new members....
I also cant make Sunday 7th as I am at a funeral...Gurpal also cant make this one. Again, apologies. After that, hopefully I will be back out on Sunday morning Clock Tower runs.....

PisHill and when will it rain

With rain forecast for 10am the group of 5 riders (Mike W, Stuart, Colin and young new Mike) left the golf club on the standard route.  Twyford and Sonning both came and went without needing to stop at the lights.  Myself and Mike hung back up Playhatch leaving the other 3 to fight for the win.  We were both too far back to see the victor.

The Wiggins Effect?

I had a few phone calls this week from prospective members asking about the clock tower run, but I still thought it would be a fairly quiet morning what with the 25 this afternoon - how wrong I was! 16 turned up this morning - the most I have seen since I started cycling with the club, and more than half of them were new or prospective members! I dont think Gurpal could quite believe it when he arrived to a full car park - so he took a photo which I hope Peter will post here for me.

Gurpal completes his 1st 12hr tt

On Sunday Gurpal completed his 1st 12hr timetrail.  He's awaiting the offical distance, but based on his own Garmin clocked up 199.35 in 12hr.  I believe his pleasure / relief in completing, offsets the disappointment of missing 200miles.

Well done Gurpal.

Clock tower run 26th August 2012

7 of us arrived at the Clock tower this morning, 5 regulars - Gurpal, Mark, David, David and myself and 2 new members Ian and Mark. We set off in the sunshine to Twyford and Sonning. It was an uneventful and fast run through Playhatch and Sonning Common to the top of Pishill. We tried to do some through and off from there to Stokenchurch but there was a bit too much of a difference in abilities and our new member Mark was struggling a little bit so we let the fast guys head off and all went at our own pace.

Showers, new members and a fall...

I turned up at the Clock Tower this morning in the rain expecting no one to be there - only to find one of the biggest groups of riders we have had for a while (except for Box Hill!). Along with Alan, Gurpal, David and myself, 3 of these were new - a young girl, Sasha and a French father and son Patrick and Pierre. We promised her dad we would drop Sasha back near home in Ascot and wanted to show the 2 French guys some of our countryside.

Bird Hills 29th July - secret training

This was my first club ride for a number of weeks, due to racing and leading charity rides.  With a number of people now away 5 of us grouped just after 8.30.  Those present were Colin, Brett, Mike W and Danuta less Robert who couldn’t be bothered to get out of bed.
