The Wiggins Effect?
I had a few phone calls this week from prospective members asking about the clock tower run, but I still thought it would be a fairly quiet morning what with the 25 this afternoon - how wrong I was! 16 turned up this morning - the most I have seen since I started cycling with the club, and more than half of them were new or prospective members! I dont think Gurpal could quite believe it when he arrived to a full car park - so he took a photo which I hope Peter will post here for me.
I had to play in my band this afternoon, so could only do a short run and so we did a very standard run through Bourne End and Marlow to Frieth, Hambledon and Henley. Once through Wargrave, Gurpal took the majority of the riders off to do a few more miles, whilst myself and Mark pushed 3 of the new members up the Bath Road to wear them out a bit!
It was so nice to see so many new faces in the susnhine this morning - I hope you all enjoyed it and look forward to seeing you again soon...I cant ride next week (I am doing the Kielder 100 off road ride - yep I am mad!) but will be back in 2 weeks time.
