CONDITIONS FOR CLUB TROPHIES AND OTHER AWARDS 2011
Permanent Awards
Individual plaques to be awarded to the winners of season long multi-event competitions and silver gilt [gold] medals to be awarded to winners of single day events.
In the case where the trophy is missing the winner will be awarded an individual plaque as a permanent award but not a silver gilt [gold] medal as well.
All trophies are perpetual trophies.
Members eligible to be a recipient of more than one plaque will have both or more trophy details engraved on a single plaque. i.e. They will only receive one plaque no matter for how many they qualify. Plaque winners also have any single day event Championships they have won engraved on the plaque instead of receiving gold medals.
The committee can award silver gilt, silver, and bronze awards no matter how many competitors if it so wishes in all competitive events. More than one event can be engraved on a medal if of same class. November 2014 The original conditions below are now being applied . See below
'Club Medals: Silver Gilt Medal only to be awarded to winner if 4 or less riders, for 5 or more riders also silver medal and also bronze medal be awarded if 9 or more riders'. [ see further note at bottom of page]
Note
The David Addaway Trophy only has the winners award.
The Bill Rundle Trophy goes down to 4th place.
NON-RACING AWARD
THE DAVID ADDAWAY CUP
Awarded annually to the Best Member of the Club, At the discretion of the Committee or [1965 original condition] judged on a points basis throughout the year, covering attendance on Club runs, at the Clubroom and at Committee Meetings, marshalling and introducing a new member (i.e., the member making the initial introduction where different from the proposer on the membership form) and other non-racing activities for the benefit of the Club. With individual Plaque as permanent Award.

SENIOR MENS AND VETS AWARDS
A G GREEN CUP (SENIOR and VETERANS BAR [VETS ADDED 2010 agm])
Awarded annually to the member with the fastest average speed over 25 miles, 50 miles, and 100 miles.
With individual Plaque as permanent award.
THE PETER BELL ROAD RACE TROPHY 2012
Awarded annually for the Road Race Championship based on the three best placings by a Member during the year. With individual Plaque as permanent award. Handicap races will not count. In the event of a tie, the person with most points in E/1/2/3/4 events shall win.
LEE MYALL TROPHY
Awarded annually to the senior/vet member with the fastest time in the event nominated as that years 10 mile championship, with Club Gilt Medal Permanent Award.
THE K. J. PERRY CUP
Awarded annually to the senior/vet member who records the fastest time in the event nominated as that year’s Senior 25 mile Club Championship. Silver gilt Club medal as permanent Award.
THE FRANK SKELLY CUP
Awarded annually to the Member who records the fastest time in the event, nominated as that year’s 50 mile Club Championship. Silver gilt Club Medal as permanent Award.
THE BANNISTER ‘100’ CUP
Awarded annually to the Member who records the fastest time in the event nominated as that year’s 100 miles Championship. Silver gilt medal as permanent award.
K. DEADMAN CUP
Awarded annually to the Member who covers the greatest distance in the event nominated as that year’s 12 hour Championship, with Silver gilt Medal Award.
JUNIOR AND JUVENILE AWARDS
DEN HAWKIN’S TANKARD [ Replaced 2007] original held in Club archive
Awarded annually to the Juvenile Member recording the fastest time over 10 miles during the year with Gilt Medal Award.
DAVID PARKER CUP
Awarded annually to the Juvenile Member who records the fastest time in the event nominated as that year’s 10 mile Championship, with Gilt Medal Award.
THE CLOCK TOWER CUP 2010 replacing the SMOKERS CUP (JUVENILE 25) [ LOST ]
Awarded annually to the juvenile member recording the fastest time over 25 miles in the event nominated as that year’s 25 mile championship with Club Gilt Medal Permanent Award.
FASTEST JUNIOR '10'
Awarded annually to the Junior Member who records the fastest time over 10 miles during the year with Gilt Medal Award only.
JUNIOR 10 CUP
Awarded annually to the Junior Member who records the fastest time in the event nominated as that year’s 10 mile championship with Gilt Medal Award.
THE JUNIOR '25' BOWL 2009 [ORIGINALLY THE OLD ONE MILE CUP now held in Club archive ]
Awarded annually to the Junior recording the fastest time over 25 miles in the event nominated as that year’s 25 mile championship with Gilt Medal Award.
THE JUNIOR B.A.R. CUP
Awarded annually to the Member, under 18 years of age on the day of the event, with the fastest average speed over two 10 mile Time Trials and two 25 mile Time Trials during the year. With individual Plaque as permanent Award.

THE LADIES '10' MILE CUP [First run 2009]
Awarded annually to the Lady Member who records the fastest time in the event nominated as that year’s 10 mile championship with Gilt Medal Award.
THE LADIES '25' MILE CHAMPIONSHIP. 'THE PUNCH BOWL' [First run 2009]
Awarded annually to the Lady Member who records the fastest time in the event nominated as that year’s 25 mile championship with Gilt Medal Award.
THE LADIES B.A.R. TROPHY
Awarded annually to the Lady Member with fastest average speed over two 10 mile Time Trials and two 25 mile Time Trials during the year. With individual replica Plaque as permanent Award.
AWARDS OPEN TO MEN AND LADY VETERAN MEMBERS
VETERAN BAR TROPHY [Not now awarded as now combined with AG Green Trophy agm 2010] [Now held in Club archive ]
AWARDED ANNUALLY TO THE MEMBER WITH THE FASTEST AVERAGE
SPEED OVER 25, 50 AND 100 MILES AND 12 HOURS. IF NO RIDER
COMPLETES A 12 HOUR, THEN THE COUNTING DISTANCES WILL BE 25,50

AWARDS OPEN TO MEN, LADY, JUNIOR AND JUVENILE MEMBERS
THE I.G. DRYLAND CUP
Awarded annually to the Member who effects the most meritorious performance on the road during the year. This includes road races and time trials. Membership to provide nominees for the Committee to vote on with a secret ballot on a 1st, 2nd and 3rd basis. No-one shall be allowed to vote for him/herself. With individual Plaque as permanent Award.
THE BEST NOVICE PLAQUE
A permanent individual Plaque awarded to the MDCC member in their first ever year of competition with the fastest average speed over 10 miles and 25 miles during the year. A club member is also eligible in their second year of competition if they did not win the award in their first year.
Riders when first joining the Club can ask the Committee if they are eligible for this award. The committee's decision on a rider's eligibility for this competition is final.
HILL CLIMB CHAMPIONSHIP CUP
The Bill Hens Cup to be awarded annually to the winner of the Hill Climb Championship. Gilt Medal Award.
10 MILE MEDIUM GEAR CHAMPIONSHIP-TONY DEADMAN SHIELD [ 25 mile Medium Gear Championship MIKE GASKIN SHIELD not competed for. Now held in Club archive]
Awarded annually to the rider recording the fastest time in the event nominated as that year’s 10 mile medium gear championship, with Club Gilt Medal Permanent Award.
THE BILL RUNDLE CUP
Awarded annually to the Member accumulating the most points on handicap in the Club Evening Events. Points to be awarded as directed by the Committee. With individual Plaque as permanent Award. Awards down to 4th place. Winner - individual plaque, 2nd place – gilt medal, 3rd place – silver medal, 4th place bronze medal.
SPORTING COURSES COMPETITION - THE DEREK ADDAWAY MEMORIAL CUP [ New Trophy 2013, original damaged trophy held in Club archive]
Awarded annually to the rider accumulating the most points in the Sporting Courses Competition. The method of point scoring to be decided by the Committee, with individual Plaque as permanent Award. This trophy was presented to the Club by Mrs. Addaway in 1967 to commemorate her son Derek, Club Timekeeper, who was fatally injured in a road accident in March 1967.
THE JOHN PARFITT SPORTIVE TROPHY
Presented by John's children, David, Jayne and Liz to commemorate his 50 years of continuous membership of the Club.
“To be awarded to the member recording the highest mileage over the complete year, November 1st to October 31st in organised sportives/audax/reliability trial events. This excludes organised tours or rides such as LEJOG. The committees decision on whether an event qualifies for the trophy is final.”

AWARDS OPEN TO SECOND CLAIM MEMBERS ONLY
10 MILE TT CHAMPS FASTEST SECOND CLAIM MEMBER PLAQUE
Presented to the second claim member recording the fastest time in the Club 10 mile TT Championship.
TRACK AWARDS [ Awarded on an occasional basis as few members compete on the track. Held in the Club archive.
THE MEMBERS’ CUP
Awarded annually on a points basis for the Track Championship. 3, 2 and 1 points for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each of the qualifying events. These to be 440 yards Flying Start T.T., 880 yards. Scratch Sprint, 1000 metres with Standing Start T.T., 4000 metres Pursuit and 5 miles Scratch. With individual Plaque as permanent Award.
THE JIM GATES CUP
Awarded annually to the Member accumulating the most points in the Annual Club 5 miles points race. 3, 2 and 1 points for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each lap after the first free lap, with double points for the final lap. Gilt Club medal as permanent award.
THE CLUB TRACK CUP
Awarded annually to the Member who effects the most meritorious performance on the track during the year. Membership to provide nominees for the Committee to vote on with a secret ballot on a 1st, 2nd and 3rd basis. No-one shall be allowed to vote for him/herself. Gilt medal as permanent award.

THE LADIES FLYING '15' TRAY
Awarded to the fastest Lady in the Club's Open '15'
THE KEN SMITH MEMORIAL TANKARD [ BORDER '15' TANKARD ]
Awarded to the fastest Gentleman in the Club's Open '15'
Club Certificates are not being awarded at the moment except for new Club Records [2010]
Club Certificates:
for Club records, winners of the individual events of the Track Championship and runners up in the Senior and Junior BARs., overall Track Championship
CLUB STANDARDS
Fee for each distance, 50 pence. A Club Certificate will be awarded at the end of the season for the rider’s best performance only, providing the time is an improvement on any previous standard award. (Engraved Gilt, Silver and Bronze Club medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Class Standards on payment of cost price).

Club Gilt Medals: for winners of Juvenile 10, Junior 10 and 30 mile T.T. Championships; Senior 30 mile and 12 hour Championships; Medium Gear 25; Fastest Junior 10 and 2nd in the Evening Handicaps.
Club Silver Medals: for 2nd fastest Junior 10 and 3rd in the Evening Handicaps.
Club Medals: Silver Gilt Medal to be awarded for 5 or more riders and silver and bronze medals be awarded if 9 or more riders enter the following events:
12 hour Championship; Junior Ladies, Senior and Vets BAR; 30, 50, 100 and Track Championship; Junior and Senior 25 Championship; Hill Climb Championship; Sporting Courses Competition.
