Wiggo Wins The Tour But Ian Brodie Takes the Timberlake Tankard!
Our only handicap championship of the year, The Timberlake Tankard was won by Ian Brodie with a handicap time of 20.43 [ 4.30 h'cap] while David Dyer obviously benefitting from his ride in L'Etape took the silver medal in 20.49 [ 5.05 h'cap] We were pleased to see new member Lee Kettle take the bronze medal in 20.53 [7.15 h'cap].
Well done Ian and well done Wiggo!
A handicap event is always difficult for the faster riders to win as they have less margin for improvement but Chris Taylor took the win in the scratch event with an all time personal best of 21.47 [21.17 on h'cap] which gave him fourth place in the handicap event.
Thanks to all who rode and of course the helpers, pusher-off, and timekeepers without who it wouldn't have happened. It was good to hear a BC official commenting on Brad's win that much is owed to all these people who stand with watches and clipboards over the years encouraging new and old riders alike.
