About Time Trials
Sometimes known as the "Race of Truth". This type of competition is one of the simplest forms of bicycle racing. The competitors set off at 1 minute intervals and are timed over a defined course; the rider who records the fastest time is declared the winner.
Distances range from 10 miles to 100 miles, and there are also events of 12hr and 24hr duration in which the winner is the rider covering the greatest distance in the specified time
The Maidenhead & District CC have a long history of organising and competing in time trials. As a club we organise four open and 30 club events every year which are well supported by our members and those of other local clubs. All our club events are open to members of other clubs and to non members via the "Come and Try it Programme". Entry is on the line.
Here at MDCC we ensure that all new and potential members are given as much support and encouragement as they require to ensure that their first experience of time trialling is an enjoyable one. For anyone who would like to try this form of competition please contact the Time Trial Secretary.
If you are new to time trialling, you may find our time trialling fact sheet a good place to start. If you are aged between 12 and 17 a Parental Consent Form will need to be completed before you can ride. This form is available from here as a PDF or will be available when signing on at line.
If you've come here looking for this year's calendar of events or race results you can find them here, or via the quicklink at the top of the page.
Results from previous years' races are to be found on this page.
For details of how to enter open time trials go to our fact sheet, and for details of the courses we use look at this page.
As a club member you can compete in our club championships of which we have a number of different competitions.
