MDCC '10' Thursday 26th May H10/2

This Thursday's '10' is the third of the season on the H10/2 Maidenhead Thicket course.  The start is at 7.45 pm.

I hope there will be no problem with numbers this week as the sunset time is now later.  Please would MDCC members, 'Come & Try It' riders and other clubs please pre-book a start time with Peter [not Jorj] through the Club email address in good time.

It is recommended that a working rear light, either flashing or constant, is fitted to the machine in a position clearly visible to following road users and is active whilst machine is in use. For later starters a front light could be a sensible choice as well.

We will be there this evening as usual. We will make a decision at the event whether it is safe to run the event or have to delay it in light of the weather and road conditions at the time.

Pete Weir's Report on His Ride National '10' Mile TT Championship. Saturday, 21st May

The Race as I Saw It

Last weekend I travelled to Teeside with local rider Nick English (AW Cycles) to compete in this year’s edition of national 10 mile time trial championships. This is quite a trip for a 10 mile event and represents 50 miles of driving per mile raced! Fortunately we were able to break the journey up by staying in Nottingham with a friend of Nick’s on both the way up and way back.

Lost Garmin Edge 705  on A4

Hi all, on the outward leg of tonight's TT, my Garmin decided after a rather large bump in the road to make a run for it. It happened between the Queen Victoria pub and Ladds garden centre (Reading bound). Did anyone see it, pick it up, or notice a lot ot broken plastic? If you did, I'd be very grateful.

MDCC 125 km Reliability Trial. Sunday,15th May

News by Sarah Davies.  Photos courtesy of Alex Hughes

The weather was glorious as 9 riders set off for the 125 km reliability ride at 0830 this morning. This included Andy and Anna from Evo Tri.
After a warm up over Pinkneys Green and down Quarry Road the pace increased a bit from Marlow into Henley.  Then a rise out of Henley towards Rotherfield and an undulating road over to Didcot, as arm warmers came off despite the constant head wind.

Tuff conditions on H25/2 (A404 / A4) on Sunday morning

Four of our rides rode the High Wycombe 25tt this morning on the H25/2 starting at the top of the A404, then along the A4 to the Sonning roundabout and back to Marlow for the finish just prior to the slip road back into Marlow.

Simon had an early start and completed in 58:14 and felt he had the best of the conditions as the wind gradually increased through the morning.  His time was quick enough to place him 3rd on the Vet Standard times.

Jorj was our 2nd rider to complete the course in 1:00:29 with another fairly early start.
