MDCC 80km Reliability Trial

We were pleased to see 20 members set off this morning from Bray Wick Sports ground in poor conditions for the first of our Reliability Trials.  They split into 2 groups, fast and medium pace but with the fast group suffering punctures they finished with only 5 minutes difference at the end.

6th February BIrd Hills club ride.

Today 9 riders turned up for a windy ride at Bird Hills golf club this week.  The riders being: Ian, Mark, Jonny, Danuta, Mike, Matt, Dominic, Gary and myself.   While at the golf club it was noticed that the tube on Marks rear tyre was trying to escape through a slit in the side wall, so a repair was required. During the discussion about route, 3 people wanted to be home around 11am for various reasons.  Danuta suggested going up the hill out the back of Henley with a large communications / satellite dish on the left.

Reliability Trial Route now posted

I have now published the route for the first of our annual Reliability Trial. It follows much of last years route. The terrain is quite a flat and the majority of the roads are rarely busy. There is a planned stop at the Look Out, in Bracknell. I am hoping that the weather is better than last years when riders had to deal with extreme cold and wet.

Sunday 30th Jan Birds Hill Ride - Mike Woods Report

A group of nine (Danuta, Andy, Ian, Gary, John, Mark, Matt, Simon, and myself) braved the cold, ice and bitter wind that periodically hit the group for the BH Sunday morning ride.

Leaving BH we headed out through Bray and on to Maidenhead at a steady pace. Not sure who was leading as Andy and I were enjoying the ride sitting at the back talking about the merits of the if it ain’t broke don’t fix it philosophy and the wasteful throwaway society of today. We probably sounded like a couple of grumpy old men).
