MDCC David Addaway Award 2010

The David Addaway Tankard for the Best Member of the Club 2010

For MDCC Club members who  aren't familiar with this the trophy is presented to the Club member who has made a significant contribution to Club life not just over the present year but also taking into account what may have been done over previous years.  This gives the Committee the option to present it as a kind of long service award  as well as just judging it on this year’s activities. It is a non-racing award.

This year the Committee is pleased to award The David Addaway Tankard to Paul Richardson for creating the new website, for running the Go Ride Sessions including one with Chris Hoy as assistant and organising the 4 open events we ran this year. All activities above and beyond the normal range of his duties as Chairman.

Boxing Day 10

Mince pies! Frostbite! Lavish prizes!* It's the season of goodwill again, and just 3 weeks until the legendary MDCC Boxing Day 10. We are looking to members to put up prizes, in the spirit of generosity which the season should engender, and to invent spurious categories for the award of such prizes.

Simon Greenland Awarded the I G Dryland Trophy for 2010

Simon Greenland has been awarded The I G Dryland Trophy by the Committee for the best MDCC Road Performance of 2010 for his breaking of the  Club 12 hour record. The Committee decided unanimously  that his ride in the ECCA 12 hour event breaking an almost 60 year old record  was outstanding especially after being thwarted by the first 12 hour he rode being abandoned while well on the way to breaking the record. Simon covered 253.997 miles. Many congratulations to him.
