Social/AGM/Clock tower run report
A grey, windy but mild morning greeted 6 of us at the Clock tower this morning. With the wind coming from the West we thought we would rather go into it on the way out and have it at our backs coming back so we went out to Twyford and up to Playhatch for our fairly usual run up to Stockenchurch through christmas Common and back through Marlow. Somehow it seemed the wind was in our faces or sides all the way around, and it made it hard work. Dan and David very much set the pace - in fact we lost them going off into the distance through Bourne End and Cookham - hope you got back to Maidenhead OK, as we all peeled off through Cookham to Switchback Lane (which was horrible into the head wind). The wind seemed to sap some of our speed and despite feeling like we worked really hard we only managed an average of 15.6 over the 47 miles!
So...onto the week ahead. I was looking at Thursday night in the Pond House, but as its the AGM on Wednesday and there will be a bar there, it seems to make more sense to support that instead. Thoughts??
