Clock tower run 18th November
It was cold but gloriously sunny this morning and 9 of us turned up at the clock tower - one of whom was Malcolm! OK, he only managed to Maidenhead Bridge with us but it was great to see him! The rest of us turned left to Bourne End and Marlow before heading up the hill to Lane End. David took the lead up the hill, and I just managed to hang on to the back of the leading group of 4 before we stopped to regroup, and lost one rider who had to head back to Windsor. That left 7 to go to Stokenchurch, Christmas Common and to the top of Pishill. Those with more guts than me zoomed off, and Gila, David and I made a 3some taking it in turns on the front till we caught back up with Gurpal. A quick regroup and we realised we had a bit of time, so we carried on through Henley to Sonning, Twyford, Binfield and home - via a variety of different routes!
50 miles today - not particularly fast at 15.8mph average but it was a really nice run.....when the weather is like this we have to make the most of it at this time of the year!
I am in Uganda teaching the Africans how to set up a Public Weather Service next week so its 26 degrees for me! I will be back the week after next - and I leave you in Gurpals capable hands!
