H30/1 - 30 Mile Club Championship - Results

A beautiful warm sunny morning greeted the following club riders to contest the championship. It was a little more gusty than the forecast suggested but it made for a great tail wind at times.

Andrew Payne - 01:09:29

Joe Francis - 01:11:20

Mike Henley - 01:16:57

Stu Auckland - DNF - punctured at ~29 miles. What a shame as at the half way point I was in the top 3 which were seperated by ~30 seconds. At least the walk back was short, sunny and flat :-)

Peter Harrison Breaks H10/2 Course Record

At this evening's 10 on the H10/2, GS Henley's Peter Harrison demolished the course record with a storming ride of 19:40

Vätternrundan 2016

For the 4th year running a group from the club made a trip to Sweden last weekend for the Vätternrundan.  This year's team was Sarah, Magnus, Dave B and me.

Hounslow & District 100 Results

Four club members raced the H100/88 yesterday. It was a dry day although the wind got progressively stronger as the morning continued making the return towards Alton harder. All club members started in relative close proximity so the conditions were the same for everyone.

The notorious A31 ruts claimed it's victims again with Andrew suffering with neck cramp and my back going at the half way point.

A huge thank you to Vicki Henley for being support and handing out the bottles - much appreciated.

weekend 7 & 8th racing round up

This weekend saw several of our members doing open timetrials.

Saturday afternoon

Stuart Auckland 21.01 on the E2/10 in Essex  - I'm sure he would loved to be 2 seconds quicker

Andrew Payne  22.17 on H17/10r and hoped to do a 21.xx but best ride of the year so far.

Sunday morning

Joe Francis 2:02:19 on the H50/8 Bentley course and had hoped to going under 2hour for the first time

Mike Henley 2:08:29 on H50/8

Neither liked the brisk easterly wind.

Reliability Ride Report - 28th Feb 2016

There was a good turnout of 19 members and guests at Bird Hills Golf Club on Sunday for our seventh annual 50 mile Reliability Ride on a circular route to the south of Maidenhead.  This included regulars from the two Sunday club runs as well as some less familiar faces.  Before we started there was a perfect demonstration of how to fall off when wearing new cleats by one member in the car park, but as far as I knew this proved to be the day’s only mishap.  At the designated start time of 8:45 a group of faster riders set off followed not long after by the rest of us.
