New bikes, new members and no wind for a change
It was cold and grey, but 7 of us turned up this morning for the Clock Tower run. David and myself both a year older than this time last week. It was great to see new member Liz again - we didn't put her off with the faster ride back at the beginning of the month! Mike was back again after his chain and gears so spectacularly broke, but although that bike is fixed, he was sporting a lovely new black carbon Canyon. I was back on the old bike this week - the weather needs to look a bit better to get the Pinarello out again!
So, luckily for everyone Gurpal was there today so there was someone with a bit of a sense of direction to lead us out! No wind today thank goodness, although it felt bitterly cold with no sunshine and low temperatures. Decided on a flat route today so went to Staines and Wraysbury, back through Virginia Water, Datchett and Eton. We lost Mike in Windsor and Lewis and Mark disappeared off at Burnham so just 3 of us rolled into Maidenhead 3 hours later after just under 40 miles. So it wasn't a fast one by any means, but some weeks it's nice to take it a bit easier!
