MDCC '50' mile TT Championship

Six members ride in the North Hants Open '50' on Sunday, May 8th competing for the Frank Skelly '50' Trophy. It's an open event and the full field can be seen on the CTT site.  It runs on the Bentley course in Hampshire between Farnham and Alton.

The fastest MDCC rider on the day wins the Trophy for the year while 2nd and 3rd places take silver and bronze medals. Good luck to all our riders including Andrew Payne, Simon Greenland and also Jon Crompton and Rob Brockwell having a go at their first '50'

Is there a chance of more Club records being broken as so many of our riders are in good form at the moment? The MDCC  '50' record stands to John Woodburn in 1:47:40 [2002] so it will take an exceptional ride to break it. The team record is more accessible standing at 6:16:10 set way back in 1974 by Bob Moore, Bob Sheriffs and George Mills.

George is now retired and lives near Derby. He still holds the Club '25' trike record. The photo below shows him on the way to his 1:04:56 set  in 1975
