First Ride at Reading Track League for Callum Robertson

On Monday evening MDCC junior Callum Robertson rode at Palmer Park in the Reading Track League for the first time. John Percy has been helping Callum over the winter during  his Club track sessions at Palmer Park and for a junior rider in his first appearance it proved he has already learned a lot.

In his first event the 10 lap B riders scratch race,  he worked hard over the first half of the race and finished with the bunch.
In his 500m sprint for B riders he came a close second which was an excellent result.
He rode the B riders Devil well and nearly made it to the end but came out when he thought his number had been called although it hadn't.
In the 20k an event for  A’s and B’s and all comers, an event in which he was thrown in with top riders, he didn’t finish but showed determination and enthusiasm just in taking part in a race of this quality.

Well done Callum and thanks to John for the work he is doing with him and other members. Callum is hoping to ride fairly regularly at Reading this season

We would be delighted to see more members taking part in the Reading Track League. Please contact John or Peter if you want more information.
