MDCC Thursday Evening Club '10, 7th April

On a beautiful evening 33 riders started the second of our evening 10's with most riders registering an improvement over last week's first event of the series.

Pete Weir took the win again riding with great style and grace in 23-09. If you want to know what an aerodynamic position is just watch Pete in action. Simon Bowler from Eton Tri Club was 2nd looking powerful to record 23-41. A whole clutch of 24's came in next with MDCC's  Jules Fairley fourth in 24-29.  It was good to have Emma Grant riding our event again who won the womens race in 24-43 but Danuta Tinn [MDCC] was close behind in 25-11.

Biggest improvement must have been for Sarah Davies [MDCC] who took nearly 3 minutes off her '10' time to finish in 30-47 in only her second try at the distance. Well done Sarah.

Sarah on the start line. Brian pushing off.

Another improvement was by new MDCC member Louise Bardsley who showing good form produced 26-23. We wish Louise the best of luck in the European Duathlon Championships that she takes part in next week.

There were some hard luck stories as well with fast man Chris Taylor puncturing.

Joe Broadhead in his first '10' of the year  finished in an excellent 26-32. After the event we presented Joe with his Trophies from last season including below The Den Hawkins Trophy for the fastest Juvenile '10' of 2010 ridden by an MDCC rider.
