MDCC Reliability Trial, 100km. Sunday, 27th February

Our second Reliability Trial over 100km took place this morning starting from Bray Wick Sports Ground Car Park on what seemed to be a good morning. 15 riders set off initially in a combined group but the fast group were eager to press on and the medium group decided to leave them to it after a few miles. It was good to see so many new members taking part including in the fast group Dominic, Matthew and junior Callum who seems to be gaining confidence with every ride.

Apart from a brief stop at Benson and for a puncture the fast group got back in just a shade over the 18 mph mark luckily missing the worst of the rain. The medium group being about 40 minutes slower had to contend with a very wet last hour with Malcolm wringing about a pint of water out of his gloves at the finish. It was a good steady group with a mix of new and experienced members.

Gurpal seemed to shrug off the rain and has added to his leading total for the Sportive Trophy.

Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head But I Ain't Complaining!

It was also good to see Andy Crawshaw out on his first Club ride of the year.

All MDCC members completing the course within 5 hours will receive an MDCC certificate. The completed mileage will go towards the 2011 Sportive Competition whether you beat  5 hours or not.

Thanks to Nigel, Sam and Peter for all playing a part in running these this year. We hope to run the 100 mile later in the summer when the weather has improved.

New Members George and Alex Completed both of our Reliabilty Trials
