MDCC Open Hilly TT
The weather was kind for our final open event of the year yesterday, the 30 mile Hilly TT, based in the lovely little village of Frieth and covering an idyllic course set in the scenic wooded Chilterns and the Thames Valley.
Winner of the men's solo event was James Goward [Farnham Road Club]. In second place was Ian's team mate Ian White who completed the first 25 miles to Marlow well under the hour and was fastest rider to that point but slowed on the climb up to the finish allowing James to take the win. MDCC's Simon Greenland came in third still recovering from his massive effort in the 12 hour last weekend.
Kate Hunt [ MDCC ] again took the women's event knocking over 2 minutes off her April time, an excellent result.
Winners of the 2-up event Pete Lawrence [ VC 10 ] and Chris Starling [Team MDT/Giant ] were also winners of the April event. Going through Stokenchurch on the first leg of the course they were both moving well with Pete doing the driving.

We were very disappointed after all the work put in by our members to organise the event to have not only a very small entry but only about half the field riding on the day. The committee is considering how to address this problem and we are now looking at which events we will organise next year together with choosing dates and times that might bring in more riders.
Many thanks to all those who helped on the event including those who aren't club members but who volunteered their services to cover the shortfall from MDCC members not coming forward.
