MDCC Thursday Evening Club '10', 3rd June

WHAT A PAYNE!   ANDREW IS BACK AND THIS TIME IT'S SERIOUS!

On a deceptively difficult evening  Andrew Payne who took a week off from riding last Thursday came back with the fastest MDCC ride of the evening in 22:59 to clinch second place to Sharkie Jaggard's [TVT] 22:55. On an evening when many there thought this would be the evening that Gervase would retake the lead in the Bill Rundle Handicap Competition  there were looks of disbelief and calls for Andrew to have his bike checked for one of the new hidden bike motors.

Gervase's 29:54 kept her in second place but Andrew's lead has increased to 65 points, 8 points ahead of Gervase. Mike Woods was disappointed to record 25:55 hoping to get closer to breaking 25 minutes for the first time but doing enough  to keep 3rd place with 55 points.

New rider Emma Grant for AW Cycles produced an excellent 24:23 while Ken Powell [MDCC] still trying to break 25 minutes registered 25:30. New member and triathlete Jon Pike produced 25:24. Les Gardner got inside 32 minutes for the first time this year with 31:54.
