Q. When and what made you start cycling?
A. 2013 I entered the ballot for ride London.
Q. Do you do different types of cycling (Road, MTB, Gravel, Turbo) and if so which one do you prefer and why?
A. Road would be my preferred choice but I do occasionally use zwift, when I’m either short of time or the weathers not good, much prefer to be outside rather than stuck indoors on a trainer.
Q. Do you do, or have you done sports other than cycling?
A3- yes I’m also a runner and an open water swimmer, was very fortunate last year to complete the London Classics.
Q. How often are you able to get out on your bike?
A. Try to get out on my bike during the week as much as I can, I am very lucky that twice a week I am able to cycle to work and back.
Q. Other than cycling what are your other hobbies do you have?
A. Apart from cycling my other hobbies would be cycling, swimming or socialising.
Q. What is your most memorable ride?
A. Most memorable ride would be the Dragon Ride.
Q. Why did you join MDCC and what do you enjoy most about the club?
A. My main reason for joining MDCC was one to be comfortable cycling in a group, and 2 was to build up my cycle fitness to get me around ride London…
Q. Does anyone else in your family cycle?
A. Husband will occasionally cycle with me, that’s only if I enter him into an event and he has to train.
Q. Technology has become more prevalent in bikes, such as Electronic gears, Disc Brakes and even Suspension. What is your opinion on these technologies?
A. if I’m being honest about the technology side of the bike I haven’t got a clue, the only preference I had when buying my bike was to have hydraulic brakes, I needed to know the bike was going to stop when I hit the brakes.
Q. If you could have any bike what would it be?
A. I’m more than happy with the bike I have at the minute, if I was to upgrade I would need to take advice on what bike to buy to suit my needs at that time.
Q. How have you managed the challenges of the various Covid restrictions we have had?
A. FeeI managed quite well during the Covid restrictions, I’m quite happy and motivated to ride alone.
Q. Do you have any cycling hates?
A. Only cycling hate I have is to plan a route.
Q. What motivates you to get out on your bike?
A. Just enjoy being out in the fresh air and exploring new areas, and of course the fitness side of cycling
