Clock tower run March 11th 2018 - Spring has sprung
A mild start to the day brought out Simons shorts and short sleeve jersey - most of us were still in tights though and I had a waterproof layer on ready for the forecast showers - that had to come off at the top of Crimp Hill as I was starting to boil in the bag! What a gorgeous morning!
Just 5 of us set off this morning, Gurpal, Mark, Simon, Hewan and myself - mothers day keeping some away, and others of us having to get back, so we had pre planned a route that could give cut short options. It was a steady ride over to Old Windsor and then up Crimp Hill into Windsor Great Park. I always get lost once in the Park so sat back and followed Gurpal. Mark seemed to know where he was going but then disappeared - not to be seen again until coffee at Velolife. We tried to meet back up via the WhatsApp group but he had lost us in the Park, then got a puncture but knew where we were going (from Windsor Great Park to Twyford, Wargrave and then up to Warren Row) and although I had to get straight home the others finally met him at Velolife for coffee.
So, a steady pleasant Spring ride - the forecast rain never materialised, but the sun came out and the promise of summer weather was there - bring it on!
