Peaslake and Cake Social Ride - Sun 14th Aug
Submitted by David Dyer on 1 August 2016 - 11:37am
I am inviting everyone to join me on a club members ride on Sunday August 14th. The idea is to head down as a group to Peaslake for cake at the local tea shop. Their cakes are renowned in the area for both road and off-road riders alike, it's well worth the trip!
Then, as we are in the area I thought a ride up Box Hill would be the order of the day before we head for home.
This is a longer ride of 100 miles, we will be flexible and divide into two groups at the right time to allow some riders to head home at a faster pace. The thinking is to get to Peaslake and then take stock of how everyone is feeling.
The pace is expected to be around 17mph. This is just a guide and we plan to keep everyone together for as long as possible.
The route is again one of those "mini-adventures". Rideable by any bike but surfaces may vary. That's my caveat for getting it a bit wrong and sending us up a dirt track ;)
I will need mobile numbers from everyone joining. I'll use this only if we encounter an unplanned split during the ride.
To ensure you all get safely round, here is a link to the planned route starting at Birds Hill Golf Course at 08:30am
See you on the ride,
