Clock Tower Ride 20th April, we're still here!

It was pointed out to me recently that there hasn't been a Clock Tower ride report for some time, so here's a quick note to assure everyone that we are still going strong.
I haven't been able to join the Sunday ride for a few weeks, but I am told that as many as a dozen have been out in the good weather. Unfortunately cool grey skies with a threat of rain greeted Lucas, Matt, Taran and I for an Easter Day ride this morning. Given this outlook and that I had to be back by 12, we decided not to stray too far from home. Matt and Lucas led the way to Twyford whilst Taran and I followed not too far behind. We then took our usual route through Sonning and Playhatch up to Sonning Common. Heading to Nettlebed, we thought about descending down Pishill, but instead took the better surface down Fair Mile to Henley where we split. Matt and Lucas turned left to Marlow, whilst with the first spots of rain falling, Taran and I put on our wet gear, turned right and took the shorter route home via Wargrave. By the time we reached the A4 the anticipated rain had well and truly arrived, but I made it home in time to cook the Sunday roast. I'll be away again next week taking in a sportive in Wales, so see you in a fortnight.
I made it 36 miles today at an average of 15mph.
