Clock Tower Ride Report, next week Reliability Ride

Given the heavy winds and flooding there was much debate under the Clock Tower this morning about which direction would be easiest / safest.  As if to emphasise our concerns was the fact that Heather had joined us being the only member from the Bird Hills group out riding.  Fortunately Gurpal then arrived with Katie on the tandem.  Gurpal always has a plan and this morning it was to head towards Windsor Great Park.  Unfortunately we had barely reached Drift Road before one of the pedals had come off the tandem.  We made our way to Stows but as that was not open until 11, Gurpal tried to repair it.  We made it as far as Legoland where after another attempted repair and realising that using 3 out of 4 pedals was not enough, they had to admit defeat.  So 5 of us carried on to do a couple of windy laps of Windsor Great Park before facing the headwind up Drift Road and home.   I recorded 38 miles at just over 15mph.

Next week we have the Reliabilty Ride starting from Bird Hills at 8:45am.  I sent an email to all members with details yesterday.  Let me know if you didn't get it.  Hopefully it will be less windy and the way will be free of floods.  I will try and reccy the route beforehand to check.
