Most club members will know Brian Simmonds (on the left), either personally or as the man who, together with Malcom, pushes you off on the Thursday evening time trials. Yesterday Brian was taken to hospital with a suspected minor stroke and loss of vision in one eye.

After initial tests he was sent home and, apart from still being blind in his right eye, says he is feeling fine. Obviously there are more tests to be done to get to the bottom of the issue but I'm sure you will join me in wishing Brian a speedy recover. Being a very fit man with a healthy lifestyle, I'm sure it is only a matter of time before he regains his vision and is back in full health.
