What season is it?

Snow, ice and freezing temperatures - it may be late March, BST may start next week - but no-one seems to have told the weather! The general consensus this morning was that we are getting a tad fed up with this....so only the hardiest idiots..I mean cyclists...turned up this morning - Dan, Rob, David B, Gurpal and me.

We decided it would be prudent to stick to a flattish route on main roads with the temperature hovering around freezing and snow in the air, so Gurpal led us on one of his magical mystery tours through Windsor, Windsor Great Park and out to Cheapside where there were alot of Police - and camera men. Not for us, luckily, but because of Boris Beresovski whose house was down the road there!

Through Ascot and towards Binfield and Rob asked if we fancied a cup of tea at his place in Bracknell - we didn't need much persuading, our feet had all gone numb by then! So we descended on his children and mother who must have wondered what on earth was going on with 5 lycra clad weird looking people taking there shoe off in their front room!

Feet defrosted a bit, we set back out for home - it felt even colder by now and the snow grains were stinging my face. The pace went up a bit as we made for home back through Binfield and Payley Street.

So, 44 miles today average speed of 15.1mph (low because of the wind I think). My feet have just about thawed out 2 hours after getting home....

Dave B is getting a group together for a ride on Good Friday....if you want to join (9am at the clock tower) either drop a note here or contact me and I will let him know.
