80km / 50 ml Reliability Ride - Feb 10th
Submitted by David Dyer on 28 January 2013 - 10:14pm
On Sunday February 10th, we will stage our first Reliability Ride of the year over 80km of a flattish course south of the A4. Reliability rides are simple early season training events that were run by cycling clubs many years before sportives and Audaxes. We revived ours four years ago to give those who usually do our Sunday morning rides and anyone else a chance to get together for an early season ride.
We meet up at Braywick Sports Ground Car Park at 9:00am and will finish in the same place. Depending on the turn out and abilities of the riders there may be one or two groups. Entry is free.
Please ensure that you carry extra food, drink, spare tubes and pump etc. Depending on the weather / time there is the opportunity for a tea break at the Look Out Discovery Centre after about 34 miles.
For all of those interested please could you forward your details to me. Any questions email me at david.dyer@btinternet.com or you can phone me on 0771 431 4925.
The route is the same as the previous 3 years. I have emailed members a map and downloads of the route in gpx and tcx formats. Let me know if you want another copy.
The mileages in the Reliability Rides count towards the MDCC Sportive Trophy.
Please make the effort to support this first MDCC Club Event of the year.
