Final championship TT event of 2012

With the days getting shorter, this Sunday brings us to the final club event of the year with a cup up for grabs.  That’s the much anticipated Hill Climb event.  For those of you who think a 10mile tt takes too long, this is the event for you.  The slowest last year completed in under 13mins.   And it’s not even a continual 13min of effort as we do 3 separate hills with plenty of time to recover between each one.

Traditionally for this event all riders meet at the Clock Tower at the station around 9am and ride out to the base of Quarywood Road under the A404 flyover for 1st rider to set off at 10am up Quarywood.  After that a nice leisurely ride through Marlow to Borough Hill to race up past the Rebellion Brewery.  Then finally on to Woburn Green for the short climb up Windsor Hill – and it’s not even the 25% hill heading to Flackwell Heath.  Riders are also most welcome to meet under the A404 from 9.45 if preferred.

From the top of Windsor Hill there is often a trip to the café in Burnham Beaches for a social gathering.

Even if you don’t want to participate it’s always good to come out and support the racers and cheer / push them on from strategic sections of each hill.  Bring you chalk and spray paint to put words of encouragement and support on the road.
