100km reliability ride 16th July 2012

A disappointing turn out for the 100km reliability ride this morning, with just myself Nigel and Andy - and the rest of you missed a treat! The weather was dry and bright - a tad windy but Nigel was a fantastic windbreak - and the route was lovely. With just the three of us we made good time through Twyford and Sonning and up to Cane End. The descent to Goring was absolutely lovely, and then a tailwind sped us to Benson and the cafe for a cup of tea and a chat. A bit of climbing took us back up to Pishill and then it was downhill all the way to Henley. One more little bump up past Danefield, into Marlow and home. We managed the 63 miles in 3 hours 40 mins - an average speed of 17.5 mph (only 1800feet of climbing)....pretty good for me!

The next event is going to be the Box Hill ride on the 1st July. I hope we will have a slightly better turn out...I will post some times etc soon....
