New Club Bike Box

As agreed at the AGM the club have purchased a more up to date bike box.

The black Bonza box that we now have, and which is free to use for Club Members, features:

Meet the Clubs IT Officer - Rob O'keefe

As some of you will know at the AGM Rob was elected to the new position of IT Officer. To introduce Rob to those of you that don't know him, we thought it would be good to ask him a few questions.

Q: What sort of riding do you enjoy?

Stolen Bikes. Can you help?

In the early hours of Sunday morning one of our members, who lives in Shurlock Row, had their garage broken into and three valuable bikes were stolen. The bikes are those in the photos attached to this post, and the details of their spec is below:

Annual 80km/50 mile Reliability Ride - Sunday 27th January

An email with details has been sent to all members.

Need a secure storage "unit" for all your bikes

The club have been contacted by Crane Garden Buildings at Sunningdale ( ), who are  am looking to forge alliances with cycling clubs to offer their members their high quality Sheds and Garden Studios for storage of their N+1 bikes in a nice dry environment that could also be their all year round Turbo Trainer/Zwift space away from the house.

Joint pre-Christmas group ride this Sunday

This Sunday we are going to do a joint club ride leaving Braywick at 8:45 aiming to meet up at Velolife at around 11:00.
We have a longer ride of 42 miles / 18.7mph via Twyford, Henley, Pishill, Nettlebed, Rotherfield Peppard, back to Henley and via the Wargrave Rd. to Velo.
The shorter route of 36 miles/16mph is the same route to Henley but takes a short cut up the A4130 to Nettlebed avoiding Pishill.
As the first 17 miles are common to both rides, anyone who wants to try the faster ride can give it a go knowing we will pick them up if they drop off before Henley.
Anyone wishing to do an alternative route is obviously welcome to meet us at velo.
See you at Braywick at 8:45.

New roads and sunshine - 18 riders head to Muddy Boots on the 18th

Not the most auspiciuos start to the ride for me today as my gear cable snapped within a mile of home - so I had to race back, nick my daughters bike which needed pedals and head back out. Luckily we had pre planned the route so I knew that the group would be heading off towards Clivedon and I met the 17 strong peleton en route.  It was a beautiful sunny day, and as usual we tried to plan a route that would head into the wind on the way out, so that we would have a tailwind to push us home. Today that meant heading NE, which is not a usual route for us, so Dave came up with a ride to stop at a new cafe near Chalfont St Giles.

Hilly 30 Cancelled

Unfortunately we have had to cancel tomorrow's Hilly 30 as there are five sets of traffic lights on the course.

Apologies for the short notice.

Cancelled 10tt Thursday 16th - more traffic lights

Despite my previous post saying tonights TT was on, traffic lights have now appear on the Bird Hills roundabout due to a water mains problem near the roundabout,  so it's now cancelled.

Lets hope we have more luck next week on the Shurlock Row course

A sunny summers morning

With another scorching day forecast, we pre planned an earlier start from the Clock Tower today so 15 of us set off from the car park at 0830 whilst it was still vaguely cool.  We used to regularly ride a route up through Twyford and Playhatch to Nettlebed and Christmas Common so thought we would give this a go, and if we split we would meet for coffee at The Barn.
