An eventful evening, with Andrew Payne swapping numbers with Choc and then starting in Amy's slot on 26 instead of 27.
Amy thought she was a late start and was pushed out to 32 - in the confusion she then went off course. Chris also
went off course, ending up in Windsor (seems a popular mistake as Robert did the same last week, though this week we had
put up direction signs at the two turns at the roundabout and then back onto Drift Road past the Squirrel).
In the men's event, Joe Francis held the top slot for 15 minutes holding off Pete Wager by just 1 second, but scratch man
Peter powered home in 22:34 to take the win. Joe's getting closer though, and is wondering if we can keep holding the 10s
until December when he'll catch Pete. Gloves out for the Boxing Day 10?
In the ladies' event. Danuta came in a minute ahead of newcomer Emma Dews. The race for third was a lot closer with
TVT team mates Andrea & Choc starting a minute apart and Andrea, not wanting to be caught by Choc, put in a great ride to
finish (just) ahead of Choc in our 10s for the first time. Well done Andrea!
Thanks to Brent for pushing off while Malcolm is on holiday, and Michelle for being assistant timekeeper.
Finally, Tom Sturgess liked the course so much he did a second lap in 23:11; exactly the pace of his first 10.
Respect - until he admitted thinking it was the 234 double-loop, and a very long 10.
