The Opening Ten

Well what can one say..........Was it an April Fool the weather broke the sun tried to break through and 25 riders signed up to the first evening 10 of the new season.

The field contained a large number of club members. One of the most impressive rides came from a new member Rob Brockwell who clocked a 26:09 on a standard road bike. Many of our club members were wearing the new club strip which colours helped it stand out on quite an overcast evening. Other members had used their off season to make that all important new purchase. Ian Brodie had spent some of his hard earned cash on a Felt along with a very bright pair of white shoes. Once again it was nice to see that we had a number of Come and Try It riders the best placed was Simeon Pollard in a time of 27:20.

I would like to thank all the non riding club members; Peter,Malcolm, Brian, Linda Regel, Andrew Richardson and Time Keeper Paul Richardson for their participation without which this event could not have taken place. Paul was shadowed by Linda during the event as she learnt the role of a Club Time Keeper.
